 Value Websites regularly provides online registration and payment forms for various conferences, conventions, forums and other institutional gatherings. Two forms currently live relate to the July SCANZ Convention to be held in Wellington and the August Myeloma Summit planned for Queenstown. In addition to gathering contact information these forms offer various registration categories, social function attendance and accommodation booking. A feature of the SCANZ form is its provision of hidden fields which are activated when a trigger field is clicked. For instance, if a partner registration is required then further fields appear. This provides cleaner form appearance. Once the required information is gathered, amounts owing are calculated and displayed and the GST component is indicated. When these forms are 'Submitted' two things happen. A copy of the registration information is auto-sent via email to the form email address provided (as well as of course to the conference organisers) and a PayPal payment screen appears. Payment from a PayPal account or Credit Card is invited. Alternatively, those preferring an invoice have been instructed to exit at this point. These forms have been individually designed and mirror manual (PDF) forms that are available for those who are not yet ready to do their registering and paying online.  As part of our recent website upgrade, Value Websites has a new logo - see above. It is described on our About page in these words, The Value Websites Logo continues to use the crimson and gold colouring of an earlier logo. Black has been added to signify that we are a Wellington, NZ company; black and gold being the region's common colours. Black is also the dominant colour of many of our national sporting teams' attire. The three dimensional square box has these three colours - black, gold and crimson - as sides and symbolises the Company's core values: value, transparency and optimisation. The boxes' edges are equally proportioned and are a reminder that we seek balance in all aspects of web design and development. These changes consolidate our decision to major on building and editing Weebly websites. With provision of their eCommerce and membership business plan, Weebly has produced a website development platform that meets most requirements of small and medium businesses. While we may choose to occasionally develop using other platforms, we are familiar with a few, we major on Weebly because they are the most user-friendly of the CMS platforms currently available. We regularly find that our clients are able substantially to edit their sites with us (or Weebly Help Desk) guiding in the background. Naturally this offers significant savings for clients.
Our other major web business commitment is to online form development. Weebly's form functionality is sufficient for many uses. If more is more is required, we offer Formstack which will meet most online form requirements. We continue to do forms work with SP Conference Management who organise 5-6 major conferences annually. Increasingly we receive calls from around New Zealand about Weebly website issues. While we have no formal ties with Weebly, other than as users of their products, we are being recognised as leading NZ Weebly experts. I guess after building 50+ Weebly sites and contributing to parts of others, we know what makes Weebly sites tick!

Recently we have been thinking a lot about website valuations and the factors that contribute to an increasingly valuable website asset. As the web matures and as web owners consider selling their website/s and businesses with a website, our focus is moving more to ensuring that we work with web owners to establish and achieve both short and longer term goals. It is not just about getting a website up and running and optimised for immediate traffic, service delivery and sales. It is also about building in sustainability through testing, tweaking, editing, rewriting, improving SEO and generally taking a broad approach to improving the web/site asset value. Two resources we offer clients are:  Value Websites is able to design web pages that are often known as Squeeze or sometimes Landing pages. Typically these are marketing pages that seek to capture vital information of a prospective customer that can then be followed up with the aim of making a sale. Often a form signup will be invited from a visitor in exchange for something of value like information or a freebie. To achieve the desired result the page is designed to be free from distractions often provided by links e.g. menu, hyperlink text or image or competing information. The page is designed to be simple with the focus on the centre of the page. Such a page is provided below. However, if your project requires a few bells and whistles Formstack online software will provide them. We use Formstack online form creation software to build, edit and manage more complex forms. Formstack forms will integrate with PayPal and various other online payment processors. Embed your form into your website or use on its own secure (SSL) site. You can also use the 'mobile device' option to display forms in a narrow format. ...Your users will be happy. And so will you. Depending on the number of forms you create and use, we may recommend that you have your own Formstack account. You can manage it, or we can on your behalf. Alternatively, if you only need occasional online forms, we can build and manage yours on our account. |
